What it does

Integrations, in detail.

A documented API and webhooks, plus connectors to the registries and indexers that scholarly publishing depends on.

  • 01

    A versioned REST API

Documented endpoints with tokens and rate limits, so your own systems can read and write the same data the platform uses.

  • 02

    Signed webhooks

Be told the moment something happens. Webhooks are signed and retried, so your systems can trust and recover.

  • 03

    Registry connectors

ORCID, ROR, Crossref, DataCite and the funder registry are connected, so identifiers are verified rather than typed.

  • 04

    Automatic deposits

Deposit to Crossref, OAI-PMH, Portico and DOAJ, plus generic SFTP, HTTP and S3 targets, with queues, status tracking and retries.

  • 05

    Your files, your bucket

Keep files in your own S3-compatible storage and read content through the content API, which is included for every client.

  • 06

    Similarity checks

Connect iThenticate with your own key or ours. Checks run only when an editor asks for one.

How it works

Four steps, no hand-offs lost.

  1. 1

    Connect

Add your registry accounts and credentials, or ask us to use ours per journal.

  2. 2

    Choose targets

Select where each journal's content should be deposited.

  3. 3

    Deposit

Deposits run automatically when an article is published.

  4. 4

    Monitor

Watch status and retries, and re-send anything that needs it.

Standalone by design

Works on its own. Better together.

Integrations needs nothing else to be useful. It has its own way in and its own way out, and in the full suite the hand-offs are automatic.

Comes in from

  • Your registry accounts and credentials
  • Imports in JATS, CSV and OAI formats

Goes out to

  • Deposits to indexers and archives
  • Webhooks and a REST API for your own systems
  • A complete export of your data

Questions

About integrations.

Do I need my own Crossref account?

Most publishers deposit with their own Crossref membership and DiscoverJ supports that. Deposits under a platform account are possible per journal on request.

Which indexers can DiscoverJ deposit to?

The first adapters are Crossref, OAI-PMH, Portico and DOAJ, plus generic SFTP, HTTP and S3 targets. More adapters are added over time.

Can I export all of my data?

Yes. A complete export is always available, and files can live in your own storage bucket from the start.
